Even though this airport was created operating in 1961, their original terminal cannot be found right now because as the number of passengers increased, they needed a new one to operate properly for bigger airplanes. The city presented the $33 million terminal in 1989, December 3. However, in 2000, February 20, this terminal was named the Ivan Munroe Terminal to honor Tallahassee aviation pioneer Ivan Munroe. This person was the first one to have a plane in this city.
